why can't i be a teacher ( Chapter 3 )
Bright's family ( the Levi's ) became so poor after his dad passed away.
The family of Levi depends on Bright as the only breadwinner. As of then Bright was 27yrs old, Mrs Levi lost her Job and she ended up with nothing in her savings. Bright was Married to an illiterate woman who served as a housewife.
Bright at some point lost the happiness of going to his office and was confused of what to do considering his financial situation. things went so tough that the Levi's had to move into another smaller apartment, Bright felt incomplete without money.
On brights way to his office one very morning, by 7am, he checked his phone on facebook and saw a message sent to him by Joe his long time buddy, saying "Finally Man, I have graduated from medical school."
Joe and Bright finished high school when they were 20 yrs old, Since their graduation, they had not seen each other, but had only talked on phone.
Joe graduated with a second class upper, after struggling with so many back papers in the university,
immediately his graduation, he got a little Job where he was been paid five hundred thousand naira ( #500,000 ) per annual from a hospital as a surgeon.
His family was happy but he was not, because his work was a bit stressing and he had no time for himself because he works 10 hrs every 6 days in a week.
After Bright heard the news that his friend has finally graduated, he was happy for Joe but he felt angry and stupid at himself for going after some foolish dream thinking that he would be happy, when he finally arrived school, he went and sat down at the library in a quiet place, he heads down in a desk and he started contemplating with himself, he asked himself " bright where is the happiness, How i wish i knew, i would have not argued papa, oh may his gentle soul rest in a perfect peace Amen.
Why did you change your mind papa at the dial minute ?, why did you leave the earth without sharing enough of your knowledge with me, why did i go after some foolish hobby that can't put enough bread on the table of my family, I now have a lot of people to take care of and my paycheck can't even take good care of only me, God why me, please help me, or wait a minute he thinks, i can i quit my teaching Job and as a physics graduate, i can go into pure physics, many high companies we want me.
Immediately he was distracted because there was a heavy noise, something fell down from a desk at his back, he went to check out and he found out it was a water bottle that fell and he saw two students who were panicking, thinking they were going to be scolded by teacher Bright, on his way approaching to their desk he started laughing, they smiled, (still panicking ), he got to their desk and he said what story is that titled "Rich dad poor dad" among your books, one of the student said, i bought it this morning but i have not read it, so i don't know what it is all about and Bright said to him can i please borrow it ?
the students replied yes you can, he said thanks, when i am done, i will return it.
